About the Chef
Philippe Conticini is a French chef and pastry chef born on August 16, 1963 in Choisy-le-Roi, in the Val-de-Marne.
Distinguished for both his sweet and savoury work, he is considered by his peers and the media as one of the major figures of contemporary French and international gastronomy.
Having worked in France, the United States and Japan, he is at the origin of four innovations that have transformed the international culinary scene.
In particular, in 1994 he invented the principle of verrines which transpose vertically and transparently dishes traditionally served flat.
After winning several awards and working in starred establishments (La Table d'Anvers, Petrossian etc.), he became the co-founder and head pastry chef of the Pâtisserie des Rêves. He attaches great importance in transmitting emotions through his creations and in democratising the work of taste.
Very present in the media, he notably intervened in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017 in the programme Le Meilleur pâtissier and in 2018 in Le Meilleur Pâtissier Les Professionnels as part of the jury.
He now offers his creations under an entity that perfectly reflects his culinary personality: "Philippe Conticini, Gâteaux & Pains d'émotions".
He opened his first boutique in the 7th arrondissement of Paris in 2018 to share his emotions through taste.
A second boutique opened in November 2019 in the heart of the 16th arrondissement.
According to his desire to transmit emotions over the world, Philippe Conticini settled down in London and opened a boutique in the heart of Camden Market in March 2020, and a second one in Camden High Street in December 2020.
After a great success with the opening of its pop-up store in the Galeries Lafayette Gourmet in Paris, the Maison Philippe Conticini has opened its own corner in the prestigious shopping centre in November 2020.
